Macros

A Macro is simply a sequence of editing operations. Macros can be used to repeatedly perform a set sequence of editing operations in one or more editing sessions.

Record a macro:

To record a macro, perform the following steps:

  1. Place cursor at position to begin the sequence of editing operations
  2. Start macro recording using the Macro menu (Macro->Start Record) or by using the Macro Record icon in the Macro toolbar.
  3. Perform editing sequence.
  4. End macro recording using the Macro Menu (Macro->End Record) or by using the Macro End icon in the Macro toolbar.

 

Play a macro:

To place a macro, simply place the cursor at the point in text to repeat the editing sequence and play the macro using the Macro menu (Macro->Play) or the Macro Play icon in the Macro toolbar. The recorded editing sequence will be repeated at the cursor insertion point.

 

Save a macro:

Macros can be saved to a file and reloaded at future time for playing. To save a macro use the Macro menu (Macro->Save) or the Macro Save icon on the Macro toolbar. The File Dialog will appear. Enter the macro filename and save.

 

Load a macro:

Saved macros can be reloaded and played. To load a macro, use the Macro menu (Macro->Load) or the Macro Load icon on the Macro toolbar. The File Dialog will appear. Navigate to the desired file and load.
